How did Hatchday Come about?
First newborn photography

It all began in 2016 when my husband and I were expecting our first child. He’s always had a passion for photography and had amassed quite a collection of camera gear. We thought, why not try our hand at a newborn photoshoot ourselves instead of hiring a professional? After all, how hard could it be?

​Well, as it turns out, much harder than we expected. The shoot didn’t go as planned, it was difficult to put my baby into those cute poses that you often see in newborn shoot ( while trying to recover from c section :’) ) but instead of being discouraged, that experience sparked something in us. We realized that there were very few people or companies specializing in newborn photography back then, and we saw an opportunity to do something truly special. ​​Encouraged by my husband’s belief in me, I decided to dive deeper into the world of newborn photography. Over the next two years, I took courses, learned every tip and trick, and honed my skills to perfection. The journey was long and challenging, but I was determined.

​​After the birth of my 2nd child in 2018, we finally launched Hatchday from our cozy four-room HDB flat in Fernvale—humble beginnings, but a dream in the making. Fast forward to today, and we’ve grown into our very own little studio in Serangoon North, where we continue to capture the magic of those fleeting newborn moments.
What started as a simple desire to create something beautiful for our own child has now blossomed into a business dedicated to preserving the earliest memories of families all over Singapore.

With over 8 years of experience, I’ve developed the knowledge to safely pose newborns, ensure they stay comfortable and calm, and work with the natural rhythm of each baby. Every session is tailored to make sure your baby is at ease, and your peace of mind is always my priority.
